To own a garden hose is to hate a garden hose. They break, they leak, they fall apart, they need to be replaced. They’re also incredibly easy to fix. It costs very little, and like Hemingway’s broken places, they’re often stronger and better after the repair.

During the great coronavirus wars of 2020, there are two more things that are almost as certain as death and taxes: pregnancies, and painted AR15s. As a matter of fact, I feel–at this point, and I while I certainly hope I’m right, only time will tell–that painting your AR15 out of quarantine boredom will be a much more common act than having to use it.
I am not immune, and will be painting my AR15 as well. (Let’s see how the Rustoleum camo paint works out.)
